Girls More Likely To Be Overweight By The Age Of SEVEN!

Not good!
According to a new study by the Institute of Education, girls are more likely to be overweight than boys by the age of seven!
The statistics show that nearly one in four girls are overweight by that age, compared to one in six boys!
Horrible!
We think that parents need to pay much closer attention [...]

heidijones-false-rape-story.jpg

This is just deplorable! It's women like this that make it harder for others who are ACTUALLY attacked to get any real justice.

Heidi Jones, a weather anchor for WABC/Channel 7 New York, has been charged with filing a false report after telling the cops a man tried to rape her while jogging in Central Park.

Heidi, who can sometimes be seen filling in on Good Morning America, reportedly told the police that she was attacked over two months ago while out for a run. She claimed a Hispanic man grabbed her from behind and was about to rape her when two passersby came to her aid. She insisted that she saw the man again more recently, and that he threatened her, which is why she finally came forward.

But after some investigation and more questioning, Heidi confessed she made the whole story up.

Why? Because she wanted some sympathy to counter some of the grief she was feeling in her personal life. In other words, she wanted attention.

Well, that's she's got, but not the good kind. This afternoon, the local station will announce her indefinite suspension from her position, rumored to be the first step in firing her. If she is convicted of her Class A misdemeanor charge, she faces a year in jail or $1,000 fine.

We just hope she's learned something for all this. She better feel some serious guilt over playing such a malicious and awful game. There are women all across the world, struggling to deal with the torment of such an ordeal and as far as we can tell, she made light of their suffering.

Awful, simple awful .

alisa-valdes-rodriguez-author-dirty-girls-social-club.jpg

Oh dear.

Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez, author of the New York Times Bestseller The Dirty Girls Social Club, is calling the TV adaptation of her book "racist, adding that her beloved characters have become "bastardizations" of her original vision.

After getting a hold of the script from an NBC employee, Alisa has said that the series "holds zero appeal for me," when she saw that all the black characters in her book were either removed or changed races and all the Latina females were sexually promiscuous.

Valdes-Rodriguez was so upset with what she saw, she took to her blog to write an angry response:

"[Ann Lopez] (George Lopez's ex-wife) assured me that as a Latina, [screenwriter] Luisa [Leschin] 'gets it.' I believed her. Stupid me. I trusted Ann that she would make good on her promise to run all major changes past me. I trusted her that she would give me final approval of each and every script. I trusted her implicitly and like a sister – in fact, everyone tells me Ann and I are identical in appearance! – until… Ann failed to do any of the things she’d promised, and began to treat me like a pesky intern she wished would go away.

I got [the script] from a lowly 'no one' in the company who is, like so many 'no ones' across this world, loyal to the book’s message of dignity for all walks of life and all people. … I was horrified by what Luisa had done to my book – and even more horrified to discover NBC had requested I be brought in as the writer, only to be told no by Ann.

Luisa managed to weed out every non-U.S. African diaspora character. Put simply, she killed off all the black folks in my story. In her hands my black Colombian character Elizabeth becomes 'a sizzling Colombian' (because we might as well employ cliched language in addition to de-Africanizing her); my mulatta Puerto Rican/Dominican character Usnavys becomes African-American, non Latino, and ends up adhering to every stereotype of the fat-n-sassy oversexed negress 'diva' that Hollywood has ever flung at the viewing public; and my Nigerian-British millionaire heartthrob, Andre Cartier, becomes Andre Carter, an East Indian by way of London. … There is no discernible reason for these changes, other than anti-black racism."

We'd be angry too! The book had so much appeal and the TV script just sounds like another "Hollywood" stereotype.

In this article we're going to talk about David Bowie's Wife, A beautiful dark woman with Somali and American blood running on her veins, Iman (which means faith in Arabic) got married with a Somali man at the tender age of 18. Nonetheless, because the marriage was rather based on young and immature love, it soon fell apart which prompted Iman to cross to the United States where she eventually found herself pursuing a modeling career. With the glitz and glamor of the modeling world, Iman soon swept one more guy off his feet, American basketball player Spencer Haywood, whom she eventually married in 1977. The year after that, Iman gave birth to Zulekha, her lovechild with Spencer.

‘Naked Gun,’ ‘Airplane’ actor Leslie Nielsen dies

LOS ANGELES – Leslie Nielsen had the somber demeanor and stone-serious face that were just right for dramatic roles. They proved even better for comedy. Leslie Nielsen, star of ‘Airplane!’ and ‘Naked Gun,’ dead at 84

Leslie Nielsen: 'I'm just having fun' STORY HIGHLIGHTS NEW: "He was the life of the party," his nephew saysNielsen died of complications from pneumonia, his family saysThe earnest dramatic actor became a comedy star after "Airplane!"He played the captain in the 1972 disaster movie, "The Poseidon Adventure" (CNN) -- Leslie Nielsen, whose longtime career as a square-jawed dramatic actor took a sudden turn into comedy with gut-busting spoofs like "Airplane!" and "The Naked Gun," has died at age 84, his family said Sunday. The Canadian-born Nielsen's career reached back into the early days of television, when he made frequent appearances on live drama series like "Goodyear Playhouse." He played the earnest starship captain in the 1956 science-fiction classic "Forbidden Planet" and made regular appearances on a wide range of TV dramas into the 1970s, including "Hawaii Five-O." He also played the captain of an overturned ocean liner in the 1972 disaster movie, "The Poseidon Adventure." Much of that changed in 1980, when he was cast as a doctor aboard an endangered jetliner in the gag-a-minute disaster-movie parody "Airplane!" Nielsen's deadpan response to the question "Surely, you can't be serious?" with "I am serious -- and don't call me Shirley" helped launch a second career.

Noomi Rapace Trading 'Dragon Tattoo' For 'Alien' Prequel?

Noomi Rapace, a.k.a. the original Swedish "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," may not have landed the Lisbeth Salander role in the planned U.S. adaptation of the Millennium Trilogy... but she isn't having trouble nabbing meaty roles in other big-budget tentpoles. She's already been cast as the female lead opposite Robert Downey Jr. in "Sherlock Holmes [...]

"Jackass 3D" won't be pooping and vomiting its way into theaters until October 15, but Johnny Knoxville already knows that the home video version, slated for release in December, is going to be awesome.

"Man, we filmed so much stuff. So much great stuff got left out of the film because we just overshot," Knoxville explained to MTV News. "That'll be in '[Jackass] 3.5,' coming out at Christmas," he said at the 2010 VMAs.

One can't help but wonder what 3-D stunts were too hot (or wet... or messy...) for the theatrical release, and we're sure whatever the gang cooked up will be completely family-appropriate for holiday DVD viewing. Or not.

Another thing "Jackass" fans will be experiencing for the first time is a clean and sober Steve-O, who seems plenty pumped for his post-rehab debut. "I can't wait. It's going to be awesome," Steve-O told MTV at the VMAs. "We made a great movie. Everybody's gonna love it. People are gonna be waiting to see how being sober and filming 'Jackass' is different [for me]," he added. "Being clearheaded and sober makes it more painful, more scary and the first thing I say is, 'I'm Steve-O, why do I have to be Steve-O?'"

Are you excited to see "Jackass 3" next week and to take in the crazier, poopier "Jackass 3.5" this holiday season? Tell us in the comments!

New 'Harry Potter' Character Posters: Up-Close And (Scary) Personal

With the November 19 release of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows - Part 1" very quickly approaching, we Potterheads are torn between uncontrollable excitement and trepidation-bordering-on-sadness, due to the fact that this film brings us a little bit closer to the End. Of. It. All. However, conflicting emotions aside, we are happy to report [...]

Noomi RapaceNoomi Rapace, a.k.a. the original Swedish "Girl With the Dragon Tattoo," may not have landed the Lisbeth Salander role in the planned U.S. adaptation of the Millennium Trilogy... but she isn't having trouble nabbing meaty roles in other big-budget tentpoles. She's already been cast as the female lead opposite Robert Downey Jr. in "Sherlock Holmes 2," and now comes news that she's a strong candidate to play the E.T.-butt-kicking lead in Ridley Scott's 3-D "Alien" prequel.

According to Deadline, studio 20th Century Fox has also met with actresses Abbie Cornish and Carey Mulligan about the part, but Rapace reportedly left a "strong impression."

We wish we could say that Rapace -- or whoever ultimately lands the role -- will be playing a younger version of Sigourney Weaver's iconic Lt. Ellen Ripley, but, alas, that seems unlikely. Scott told Empire last year that the movie will be set roughly 30 years before the original "Alien," which would make the year 2085 and would make Ellen Ripley a zygote.

The prequel will reportedly delve into the origins of that mummified alien Ripley and co. discover in the first "Alien," and could conceivably spawn a second prequel movie (a prequel sequel).

We'd be stoked to see Rapace kick some "Alien" ass -- would you? Let us know in the comments!

'Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides,' Paul Walker And Facebook In Today's Twitter-Wood

Disproportionately large numbers of picture tweets continued to be a Friday trend today, with another on-set shot of "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides" showing up from Jerry Bruckheimer, Ludacris hanging out with Paul Walker, and Rose McGowan showing up to a USO event with an actor you may recognize from "Sons of Anarchy."
Jon [...]

Harry Potter and the Deathly HallowsHarry, Ron and Hermione may find some of those elusive Horcruxes in "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1," but there is one thing they won't find, no matter how hard they look: a third dimension. And neither will the audience.

Warner Bros. announced today that "Deathly Hallows: Part 1" will not -- repeat, will NOT -- be released in 3-D as originally planned because the conversion to the format would not be completed by the film's November 19 release date.

"Despite everyone's best efforts, we were unable to convert the film in its entirety and meet the highest standards of quality," the studio said in a statement. "We do not want to disappoint fans who have long-anticipated the conclusion of this extraordinary journey, and to that end, we are releasing our film day-and-date on November 19, 2010 as planned. We, in alignment with our filmmakers, believe this is the best course to take in order to ensure that our audiences enjoy the consummate 'Harry Potter' experience."

Producer David Heyman and director David Yates backed the studio's decision. "For 10 years, we have worked alongside Alan Horn and the studio, whose priority has always been to preserve the integrity of Jo Rowling's books as we have adapted them to the screen," Heyman said in a statement. "This decision reflects that commitment."

Added Yates: "This decision, which we completely support, underscores the fact that Warner Bros. has always put quality first." Gotta love the show of unity, but that's to be expected from the people making the movie. The big question is: How will fans react?

We've never been huge supporters of converting movies to 3-D after the fact -- at best it can be unnecessary; at worst it can be "Clash of the Titans" -- but if it had been done properly, we wouldn't have minded some 3-D wizardry for "Deathly Hallows: Part 1." Still, it doesn't affect our enthusiasm for the film at all. We're just as pumped now as we were when we woke up this morning.

Of course, we will be treated to some three-dimensional "Potter" fun beginning July 15, 2011: "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2" is still on tap for both 2-D and 3-D versions.

Are you bummed... or glad that "Deathly Hallows: Part 1" won't be in 3-D?

The characters or the story can be seen to have their total attention as they recite the script word for word. The same can be observed when they're sitting in the classroom, absorbing every detail of an interesting story being read them.

How To Keep Your Singing Voice Healthy

Under normal circumstances, we breathe without any help. Inhale, pause, exhale - so the rhythm continues and keeps us alive. We do this day in, day out, usually with very little effort. Our breathing is normally quite shallow, until we do something energetic which increases our body's needs for oxygen - this then increases the depth and rate at which we breathe.

Review of Saturday Morning Cartoons' Greatest Hits

I've always been into metal, it's one of the first genres I started listening to when I was younger and I still listen to it religiously. I started with bands like Hammerfall and Sonata Arctica and Iron Maiden and gradually moved onto heavier and heavier stuff. My progression in a nutshell would have been Hammerfall -> Black Sabbath -> Metallica -> Megadeth -> Trivium -> Children of Bodom -> Dethklok -> August Burns Red -> Whitechapel.

Making Money, Making Music

As rock acts go, there are not many who have been, or are as big and notorious as Van Halen, their reputation as the biggest party band of their era is now well defined and accepted. The new rock kings were no band of drunken slouches though, in Eddie Van Halen they have the most groundbreaking and electrifying guitar player since Jimi Hendrix.

Built in Lesson Pianos - What's Vital To Know Before Buying!

When I was growing up I had to take piano lessons from this really mean old lady who played the organ at our church on Sundays. I really didn't enjoy being around her at all for numerous reasons. One, I was ten when I first started lessons and what ten year old boy do you know that likes to hang around old people?

The Effect of Lloyd Banks Mixtapes on His Solo Career

Since the birth of hip hop, mixtapes have been around to help artists get their work quickly and effectively onto the streets and into the music scene. DJs and rappers, like Sheek Louch, are now releasing them quickly, causing the market to be extremely expansive-- one could even find Lil' Wayne or Sheek Louch mixtapes in their entirety right on the internet. The meaning of the word 'mixtape' was much different in the '70's when it first came about.

Barber's Adagio for Strings and Its Link With Trance Music

The oboe has been around as a significant solo instrument since the Renaissance and so it is not surprising that there is a very substantial repertoire of oboe pieces available. There is a massive repertoire of Baroque solos for the instrument and there has been another burst of activity in the last century or so. In between, during the Classical and early Romantic periods, there were far fewer solo pieces written.

Kevin Smith Debuts 'Red State' Poster, Says He Screened Finished Film At The Wrap Party

Kevin Smith works quickly.
Two days after finishing up the 25-day shoot on his new horror flick "Red State," the "Clerks" and "Chasing Amy" director held a wrap party, during which he screened a finished cut of the film for the cast and crew. That's right -- the freaking thing was completely edited and even included [...]

FROM SPLASH PAGE: The road toward a brand new "Superman" movie is a long one, but it's gotten shorter thanks to the involvement of director Zack Snyder. The filmmaker, already known amongst comic book fans for his work on "300" and "Watchmen," is set to put his stamp on the Man of Steel for the character's 2012 big screen revamp — but that doesn't mean he was always considered the front runner to direct the Christopher Nolan-produced film.

Indeed, several directors were considered for the "Superman" reboot, with "Back to the Future" helmer Robert Zemeckis listed as one of them. But in a recent interview with MTV News, Zemeckis thoroughly downplayed his rumored involvement with the iconic DC Entertainment property.

"I passed on that faster than a speeding bullet," he told MTV News about his brief connection to "Superman." See what else Zemeckis had to say about the "Superman" reboot on Splash Page.

Would Zemeckis have been a good choice to direct "Superman"? Tell us in the comments!

Taylor Swift’s Dear John lyrics are the talk of the web today. It seems that the singer really opened up and is not only apologizing to people, but also telling boys when they did her wrong! Check out videos and read more here!

Is Lindsay Mccormick Mark Sanchez’s girlfriend? Rumor has it that the ESPN dancing reporter has captured the heart of the New York Jets quarterback. So has he finally found love? We have the details and some hot photos here!

lindsay mccormick

Meet Lindsay Mccormick, Mark Sanchez’s girlfriend (rumored). Mccormick is an NFL reporter that is rumored to be dating the NFL football player. So just who is Mccormick? If you are a football and avid ESPN fan, you have probably caught a glimpse of the beautiful blond. Not only is she a reporter, she is a college football analyst. Lindsay hails from Houston, Texas but is currently based in Connecticut and New York. She has been featured on various television shows and radio shows and is well known for her coverage on the Auburn University football team. Lindsay graduated from Auburn receiving her BA in Communications. It was there that she pursued her love for broadcasting. She eventually went on to intern for ESPN and has been associated with them ever since.

So it doesn’t come as a surprise that McCormick would even up dating an athlete in the sports scene. While Sanchez has been linked to various models and even actress Jamie-Lynn Sigler, The New York Post is linking the footballer to McCormick.

A source told the newspaper that “Mark and Lindsay have known each other as friends for a long time, but have been seeing each other for a few weeks. She’s a freelance sports reporter and spends a lot of time working in Portland, Oregon, so they haven’t been able to see a lot of each other.”

But McCormick is denying anything romantic between her and Sanchez. She claims, “I have known Mark for a number of months, and he is an acquaintance/friend, and anything reported as more than that would be false. Not to mention, I would never hear the end of the smack talk from my dad, who is a diehard Texans fan. So, as an avid sports fan, let’s allow Mark to place the focus where it should be — on the Green Bay defense.”

Oh joy! Beyonce pregnant! Beyonce pregnant! I’ve been waiting for the day when my favorite female performer would get herself knocked up. Today we learn the rumors that a Beyonce baby is in the oven so join us in our quest for the baby bump photos. Share what you have in the comments.

Beyonce baby

See the Beyonce photos we have here and a video report about the new baby.

The news is reported by US Weekly is their latest October issue which hits the newsstands over the weekend, but the story is already available on their website. The magazine’s sources shared the news with the reporter. The names of the sources remain anonymous, however, so take the news with a grain of salt, and yet they claim multiple sources confirmed the news of a Beyonce Baby in the making with Jay Z.

According to the report, the informants explained that “B [Beyonce] was shocked. She loves kids, but she wasn’t ready to be a mother just yet. She really wanted to get her album done and tour the world again.”

You can read much more about this story here and here and here.

Of course this is not the first time a Beyonce baby rumor has been spread by an online periodical. Same thing happened six months ago. No baby was pushed out of her beautiful body so they rumors were false or a tragedy occurred before birth.

Beyonce is still in her first trimester so she has plenty of time to adjust to life as a mother. But because it is so early it is shameful that the news was made public. Most mom’s want to hide that news because so many problems can develop this early in pregnancy. I know. I shared my news with everyone but lost my first baby due to miscarriage. Then I had to deal not only with the emotional loss but also deal with friends’ unwanted (although appreciated) sympathies. The last thing I want to do now is cry about a Beyonce miscarriage so hopefully everything will be okay with her.

Although the Beyonce pregnancy is a surprise to the singer, she reportedly told friends that it is a “gift from God.” She will soon learn how sleepless nights, crying forevermore, and suckling babies at the breast are a gift from God. No word on whether if Beyonce’s child is a boy or a girl.

Beyonce will make a great mother. She always carries herself gracefully in public, confidently and yet with the warmth and patience that motherhood demands. What a lucky baby.

As for Jay-Z, there is no question that he is the father. Come on now. Why would you dare ask?

Now it is your turn. Tell us how you feel about the Beyonce pregnancy rumors. I for one am glad that Beyonce is pregnant and cannot wait to see her baby bump photos and new baby pictures whenever they arrive.

Meanwhile see the video of Beyonce discussing childhood with Ellen which includes her own cute baby pictures!

Back in February we learned that the long-running animated series The Simpsons had revamped and updated the main title opening of the show for the first time in its 19 year history … today we take another look at the main title opening sequence of last night’s ep which was also changed a bit. The sequence was directed by guerrilla graffiti artist Banksy who used the opening to give his take on how The Simpsons is really put together:

The Simpsons are always very clever with their opening sequences but this time, all the cleverness comes from Banksy. I’m not sure but this may be the first time the opening was directed by someone outside of the production team of The Simpsons (I’m certain it’s the first time an artist was allowed to direct the opening). The screencaps above do NOT show the best parts of the opening, tho, which come after the “couch gag”. Check out the opening in full to see what I’m talking about …

LOL!! I’m always impressed with the way 20th Century Fox allows The Simpsons to make fun of the company … this Banksy-directed opening seems to be the most scathing portrayal of the company yet. With tongue planted firmly in cheek, Banksy shows what an “evil corporation” Fox truly is … to much hilarity. It’s a great opening … one of the best, IMHO. What do y’all think? Funny, right?

Neil Patrick Harris, star of “How I Met Your Mother,” is a father twice over.

According to a Twitter message Friday from Harris that was confirmed by his publicist, the actor and his partner, David Burtka, welcomed twins this week.

Harris tweeted, “Babies!! On 10/12, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace entered the Burtka-Harris fold.” He added, “All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey.”

The 37-year-old actor announced earlier this year that he and Burtka would become parents of twins. He didn’t say whether they were adopting or using a surrogate.

Harris, who plays Barney on the CBS sitcom, won an Emmy Award this year for a guest appearance on “Glee” and shared in another Emmy for the Tony Awards, which he hosted.
