captain america to change title in some countries

Looks like this will be a controversial move with hardcore Captain America fans, as well as Patriots everywhere.

The upcoming Marvel superhero movie Captain America: The First Avenger will have a much less patriotic title in South Korea, Russia, and the Ukraine.

In the countries we mentioned above, the title will be shortened to The First Avenger, which is a decision that was based on political factors "market research results."

Looks like the full title was cool with most countries, but Marvel, Paramount, and international distributors decided to make the change for the countries we listed.

Here's what the film's director Joe Johnston had to say about Captain America's international appeal:

“He wants to serve his country, but he’s not this sort of jingoistic American flag-waver. He’s just a good person. We make a point of that in the script: Don’t change who you are once you go from Steve Rogers to this super-soldier; you have to stay who you are inside, that’s really what’s important more than your strength and everything. It’ll be interesting and fun to put a different spin on the character and one that the fans are really going to appreciate … the idea that this is not about America so much as it is about the spirit of doing the right thing. It’s an international cast and an international story. It’s about what makes America great and what make the rest of the world great too.”

And here's what competitor/X-Men:First Class director Matthew Vaughn had to say about it:

“It’s going to be interesting to see how the movie does internationally with that character’s name. I think changing it is smart.”

We understand the reasoning for changing the title, but then again, he IS Captain America. They can shorten the title, but they can't very well change his name in the movie…unless they went more generic and called him Captain Planet.

We see no reason why that would be a problem.

Ha!

Do U think it's okay for them to change the title to appease certain countries? Or should it be the same everywhere?

Tallulah Belle Willis—Busted for Alcohol!

Oh oh…busted! Bruce Willis and Demi Moore’s seventeen-year old has been nabbed for alcohol! You booze you lose girlfriend! So much for a night on the town with teeny boppin’ friends! Sounds like someone is in trouble! Last night was supposed to be a night out with friends, turned out to be an illegal brush with the law for the youngsters. Tallulah Belle Willis and two other friends were stopped and questioned by law enforcement after they were spotted getting out of a car around 11 o’clock in the hills of Hollywood. According to the cops, they were seen cradling what appeared to be not just one, but two bottles of liquor. After the officers performed their duties, the girls were cited for being in possession of alcohol…cheers to under age drinking! Because they are minors, their parents were called. Tallulah phoned big daddy Bruce, and to no avail, Demi cruised on over to pick up her unlawful teen. Tallulah is the youngest of three sisters (Rumer and Scout) with super celebrity parents, Demi and Bruce—oh and Ashton Kutcher. You would think this little girl would have learned her lesson since this isn’t the first time she has been in [...]

Innerestingly enough she left rehab to come to court to plea not guilty.

Like rain on your wedding day, huh?

Alexis Neiers, known best as one of the sticky-fingered kids of the Burglar Bunch, pled not guilty to two charges stemming from her arrest last December at her arraignment yesterday. The charges stand as one felony charge of possession of a controlled substance (aka the black tar heroin, yuck!)and misdemeanor possession of a smoking device.

After the judge heard her plea, she was shipped back to rehab for another month. She'll return to the courts in March for her hearing.

And so it begins again. One stint behind bars just wasn't enough for you, bb? You had to go for two?

Ice Cube I Am the West Album Review

If you think about R&B artists since 2001, who comes to mind? Likely those who stuck around from the 90s, like Boyz II Men or Mariah Carey. As for any who started their careers post 2002, few really stand out. Possibly Alicia Keys, Pharrell, Rihanna. Perhaps Drake and Trey Songz will join that list. What did these artists have in common? They broke the mould.

Best HD Camcorder Under $1,000

There is nothing like finding the best stereo headphones available in the marketplace, but sometimes, those phones labeled "best" aren't often the very best ones for you personally. Generally instances, lists are created based on the popularity of the system, the brand title, and overall top quality. And sometimes a reviewer may perhaps mention a pair that's best "except for the reality that they make your ears sweat." Nonetheless, in owning yours for three years, you've not released 1 drop of sweat. This is why it really is essential to obtain what is very best for you, despite all the reviews. Locating this best option will need research, on the other hand, meaning you can't just discover a pair that appear good on the internet then purchase them because there's a great probability you will be disappointed. Rather, you have to look around, test them out your self, and make an educated option, due to the fact if you are buying just like the clever person I'm sure you might be, you'll want to keep them for a lot more than a 12 months or two.

Andrew Gold Lyrics Some Of The More Notable In His Catalogue

Gilbert O'Sullivan has been largely ignored by most pop music critics; his early image perhaps alienating a sizable portion of them with its contrived, down-at-heel urchin look - not a fashion statement that has stood the test of time. What has stood the test of time in my view is the quality of some of his songwriting, along with the clean and natural vocal style he employed. Whilst he regularly managed to construct and carry a strong melody, it is the lyrics to some of his early work that I find fascinating.

The History of the PRS Guitar

For those of you that are unsure what an Etude is, essentially, historically speaking, Etudes come out of the Classical music tradition. It is basically a "study" that is designed to help the musician perfect a specific technical aspect, often disguised as an actual tune. So what I am suggesting when practicing the scale examples in my book New Approach to Scales for Guitarists, is to treat them as a very short Etudes.

Audio Technica AT LP120 Turntable A Must Read Before You Buy

It is certainly not uncommon, on any night in Nashville, Tennessee to stop by venue after venue and hear live music. Some of the great undiscovered talent is still lurking in these places waiting to get their big break in the music business. Another city that I occasionally, over the years have frequented on business has been Lexington, Kentucky. A city that is known worldwide for the horse industry and their "blue grass" is also no stranger to great undiscovered talent. Many of the major artists on country radio today got their start in Central-Eastern Ky. A few to mention: Ricky Skaggs, Keith Whitley, Patty Loveless, Montgomery Gentry, Exile, John Michael Montgomery and many more.

Recording electric guitar is very hard to be done if you do not know how to do it properly. It is different from the recording technique in the past. Now you do not need to do the recording by putting the microphone in front of the amplifier. You do not need to push the record button anymore. Since, it is a lot more convenient and easy to do guitar recording in recent days.

Oscar Surprises And Shockers: Michelle Williams, Javier Bardem, Jacki Weaver Pull Upsets

By Aly Semigran
Despite every prediction about the Oscar race in the weeks leading to the announcement of the Academy Award nominations, there are always a few (wonderful) surprises that throw the whole thing off. This year was certainly no exception.
As last year's Best Supporting Actress winner Mo'Nique and Academy President Tom Sherak announced the nominations [...]

By Ryan J. Downey

With all of the early morning celebrating surely going on in Hollywood from folks like Javier Bardem ("Biutiful") and Michelle Williams ("Blue Valentine") after the Oscar nominations were announced, there are surely several other folks whose disappointment very likely sent them straight back to bed in their PJs.

Mila Kunis earned Best Supporting Actress nominations at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards for "Black Swan," generally a great indicator in the race for Oscar gold, but was left in the cold today as the 2011 Academy Award Nominations were announced in Beverly Hills by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

Who else was snubbed?

Andrew Garfield, busy shooting "Spider-Man," won't be rewarded for his supporting turn in "The Social Network," a Best Picture nominee and Golden Globes Best Drama winner seen by many critics and pundits as the strongest best picture contender against "The King's Speech," which leads with nominations in 12 categories. "The Social Network" earned an Oscar nomination for Jesse Eisenberg in the lead actor category among other accolades.

The most notable best picture snub was "The Town," the Boston set bank-robber drama starring and directed by past Oscar winner Ben Affleck with a sharp supporting turn from Jeremy Renner, who was nominated today. While other shutouts like "Get Low" and "The Ghost Writer" were seen as more dark horse choices, "The Town" seemed like a safe bet. The movie earned several nominations from the National Board of Review, the Broadcast Film Critics Association and others. The late Pete Postlethwaite was nominated at the BAFTA awards for Best Supporting Actor.

Christopher Nolan is missing from the director category. The "Inception" helmer was nominated by both the Directors Guild of America and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (who put on the Golden Globes), and many thought made him a lock come Oscar time. Maybe he'll have better luck down the road for "The Dark Knight Rises."

Best Picture nominee "The Kids Are All Right" earned an acting nomination for Annette Benning but turned up nothing for her co-star, Julianne Moore. Michelle Williams "Blue Valentine" co-star Ryan Gosling was similarly shutout, and their movie is missing from the best picture category.

Mark Wahlberg wasn't nominated for his formidable starring role in "The Fighter." While that's a bit of a snub it wasn't really a surprise. This awards season has focused on Christian Bale, who played the crack-addicted, washed-up boxer brother of Wahlberg's real-life pugilist.

As Bale (who was nominated) said earlier this month in his Golden Globes acceptance speech: "I really gotta give a shout-out to Mark because he drove this whole movie. And you can only give a loud performance like the one I gave when you have a quiet anchor and a stoic character. I've played that one many times and it never gets any notice."

There were of course some folks pulling for "True Grit" star Matt Damon, but like Wahlberg, his absence isn't hugely surprising, despite the film racking up 10 nominations, placing it right behind "The King's Speech" in terms of overall nominations.

Many expected to see "Waiting for Superman" — about the education system in America — in the documentary category. The movie received the Audience Award for best documentary at the 2010 Sundance Film Festival.

Explaining The Bieber Fever Who Is Justin Bieber?

For its versatility, portability, and that can be used to play almost any type of music, the guitar is one of the most popular instruments to play. If you are interested in folk, country, rock, jazz, or any number of other musical styles, the guitar can give you the chance to play and perform their favorite songs or even write some of his own. But like any tool (or anything worth learning for that matter), the guitar can take a good dose of patience, perseverance and good old-fashioned practice.
